Hornil StylePix Editor's Review

Hornil StylePix is a graphic editor, in plain English - a program designed to help you edit digital images on your computer.

After installation, I expected a simple application with only a few features. To my pleasant surprise, I found StylePix style pix to be both simple (as in easy to use) and complex (as in multiple advanced features).

The user interface is clean and provides a quick access to all the program's features. The styling tools (selection tools, drawing tools, text editing, color picker, etc.) are located in a bar on the left hand side of the program window. You can browse your computer for images: these can be displayed as a list, as small icons or as icons. Thumbnail, histogram and waveform view are available for images opened for editing. In addition, you can edit multiple images at the same time.

Besides regular image styling, there are over 50 image filters available: Color adjustment, Sharpen and blur, Mosaic, Noise, Style, Rendering, Morphological, Distort filters, Convolve, etc. Working with layers and groups is another useful feature as well as the various blending modes available.

Pluses: Batch operations supported: re-sizing, rotation, re-naming, output path, file conversion and filtering.

Drawbacks / flaws:

In conclusion: Hornil StylePix is free and it does an excellent job when it comes to image editing on an intermediate level. I sure loved toying with it.
